ProjectDivX Version 1.4

Merge your DivX :-) MPEG 4 AVIs (encoded in DivX-Low and DivX-Fast) very easily. You can also cut big AVIs into smaller parts.

The tool is completly Freeware and available for Windows 95 / 98 / 2000 / NT / (maybe ME; not tested yet).

Short example how to convert one AVI to DivX (with both Encoders (Low and Fast))

1. You have got an AVI encoded with one of an AVI encoder (like Intel Indeo)
2. Now create an AVI with the DivX (Low)!
3. Now create an AVI with the DivX (Fast)!

Important! Create both with Audio! Yes, you can! The Audio is mixed together to the final AVI!!

4. Start ProjectDivX!
5. Load both Movies in ProjectDivX ("Select low Movie" and "Select fast Movie").
6. Then you have to look at the whole movie and look at with part one of both is better than the other. Set up a Start Frame and an End Frame in which you want have one encoder and put it to the "Encoding List" by pressing "Add as low part" for DivX-Low or "Add as fast part" for DivX fast. It´s important that you look at the frames in the encoding list:
This list seems to be correct:

This list is NOT correct (for a whole AVI):

See the overlapping frames in row 2?

What does ProjectDivX do with the lists from the example? Well, in the first example, you get a final AVI from frame 0 to frame 230 with Audio; combined with 0-100 with LOW, 100-150 with FAST and 150-230 with LOW. In the second list, you get a final AVI as well, but with 100 + 140 + 80 = 320 Frames;combined with 0-100 with LOW, 40-180 with FAST and 150-230 with LOW. Allright?

7. If you have create your encoding list, you can safe the whole settings in an INI File (choose "Save Project Settings"). Later if you want to re-edit the files, you can load the settings by choosing "Load Project Settings".
8. Press "Start Creating". Now your final AVI will be created in less than a few minutes; depending on the original file size. The PojectDivX does NOT re-compress the Video or Audio. It uses the direct stream copy for creating the new file.
9. You created it!

Commands in ProjectDivX

Reset	Resets the programm
Select "low" Movie	Loads the movie with "low" DivX
Select "fast" Movie	Loads the movie with "fast" DivX
Load Project Settings	Loads the Settings for an Project
Save Project Settings	Saves the Settings for an Project
Start Creating	Starts the creation of the final AVI
About	Shows the About Box

Movie Controls

First	Goes to the first frame
Prev Key	Goes to the previos key frame
Next Key	Goes to the next key frame
Last	Goes to the last frame
Prev	Goes to the previous frame
Next	Goes to the next frame
Set Start	Sets the Start frame
Set End	Sets the End frame
Add as "low" part	Adds the intervall from Start frame to End frame as "LOW"-encoded to the encoding list
Add as "fast" part	Adds the intervall from Start frame to End frame as "FAST"-encoded to the encoding list
Left click on one of the preview controls	Switches off the preview dialog and changes the size to the original size of the Video-Stream (Width x Height); full resizsable
Right click on the switched off dialog	Re-Changes the size of the dialog to to the original size of the Video-Stream (Width x Height)

Important: Set Start; Set End; Add... are only possible at a key frame!!!

Encoding List

Start Frame	Start frame

Time Intervall	Time from Start to End; format: hh:mm:ss,mss-hh:mm:ss,mss
Encoding	Codec for intervall from start to end frame ("Low Encoding" or "Fast Encoding")
Size	Size in Kbytes for the Video Stream
Left double click on one element	Selects the intervall in the preview
Right double click on on element	Changes the Encoding Option from Low to Fast or from Fast to Low

Limitations

The tool currently only supports the first Audio and Video Stream of the Source AVIs; normally you don´t need more than 1 Video and 1 Audio Stream.
